Oversight Project’s Statement on the Firing of FBI Kneelers
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 29, 2025
Washington, DC – The Oversight Project applauds Director Patel and FBI leadership for taking the necessary steps to remove FBI personnel who kneeled in solidarity with BLM protesters as riots were ravaging the country.
We have called on this for years and the day of judgment has arrived.
Back in October 2024, we released an internal June 2020 letter to Director Wray from FBI agents questioning these agents’ partisan conduct and ideological alliance with a movement that caused billions of dollars of damage to the U.S. and was openly defiant to law enforcement.
President of the Oversight Project Mike Howell said:
“The road to reform is long, but this is a critical step. The partisan and ideological rot at the FBI runs deep. Firing these agents who knelt in solidarity with a neo-Marxist “protest” movement is an important common sense step in ensuring that our law enforcement supports law enforcement. I can’t believe I have to say that, but it’s true.”
