By law, all U.S. males aged 18-26 must register with the U.S. Selective Service. This requirement includes illegal aliens. Failure to register is a deportable offence.
The massive, illegal influx of military-aged males to the U.S. under the Biden administration was not matched by an uptick in Selective Service registrations. Oversight Project FOIAs seek data to determine how many asylum seekers and illegal immigrants are violating Selective Service laws and if the Biden administration “purposely avoided [the] issue for political reasons.”
Identifying a broad group of asylum seekers and illegal immigrants whose failure to register for Selective Service makes them deportable, could increase the rate and legal tools of Trump-administration deportations.
