Oversight Project Commends Trump Administration on New Actions to Counter Domestic Terrorism

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

September 26, 2025

Washington, DC – Yesterday, the Trump Administration released a National Security Presidential Memorandum titled Countering Domestic Terrorism and Organized Political Violence. This memo recognizes the realities of the most virulent threats posed in the United States domestic terrorism landscape in 2025:  “common threads animating this violent conduct include anti-Americanism, anti-capitalism, anti-Christianity … and hostility towards those who hold traditional American views on family, religion, and morality.”

The Memo directs several important initiatives to counter Domestic Terrorism including the following:

1. Utilizing the FBI’s extensive Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) apparatus

2. Engaging the IRS Criminal Division to track illicit funds and tax violations from the NGO networks

3. Tracking terror financing funds through FINCEN with the Department of Treasury

4. Charging Conspiracy Against Rights (18 USC 241) and domestic terrorist networks under RICO

These are just some of the ways to detect, disrupt, and dismantle these Antifa, TIVE, and other violent networks that use organized political violence to intimidate and coerce our fellow citizens.

President of the Oversight Project Mike Howell said:

“This is a serious document that is entirely justified, creative, and legally sound.  It reflects a deep understanding of both the problems from far-left domestic terrorists and the tools the government has at its disposal to end the threat.  We stand ready to support the Trump Administration in this just cause with any assistance we can provide, whether legal or investigative.”
