Oversight Project Announces Major Updates on Biden Tapes Case

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 29, 2026

Washington, D.C.– Early this morning, there was an unusual development in the historic ongoing litigation led by the Oversight Project versus the Department of Justice to release the hidden audio tapes of Joe Biden’s interview with the individual he paid to write a book for him.  After last-minute attempts by Joe Biden’s lawyers to intervene in the matter and keep the tapes hidden, a new judge was brought into the mix to adjudicate Biden’s independent suit against the DOJ to block release of the tapes to Congress:  Judge Chutkan.  This is a highly unusual development that the Oversight Project is monitoring and will react to accordingly.

The Oversight Project case is captioned Heritage Foundation and Mike Howell v. U.S. Department of Justice, Case No. 24-645 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.  The independent suit brought by the same lawyers for Joe Biden is captioned Joseph R. Biden, Jr., v. U.S. Department of Justice, Case No. 26-1818 in the same U.S. District Court.

President Mike Howell offered the following quote:

“When President Nixon wouldn’t release his tapes, he lost unanimously at the Supreme Court.  Don’t get me wrong, I have a lot of thoughts about how President Nixon was treated, but here it looks like the people behind Joe Biden are getting the superstar treatment.  Say what you want, but at least Richard Nixon wasn’t incapacitated and having a team run the country into the ground via an autopen device.

With this recent move, two judges are being required to do what one judge was enough to resolve just yesterday. This case has been going on for two years now.  We just want the American People to own what belongs to them and to have more insight into when the autopen took over.  The record is developing that many people were aware that Biden’s mental capacity was dubious, at best, much earlier than the debate meltdown where Dr. Jill thought Joe was having a stroke.  These tapes can help Americans better understand the history of the greatest scandal in American history: the Autopen Scandal.  Let them listen.”
