Position Description
We are seeking dedicated, mission-driven attorneys to join a unique, in-house legal team operating within the Oversight Project. Designed as a special forces-style law firm to take the fight to Anti-American interests by pairing the Oversight Project’s world class investigative functions to an aggressive litigator ethos.
Simultaneously, it will provide allied lawyers, public servants, mid-level staffers, and partners the defense they need to ensure no man gets left behind.
No institution currently exists like this legal vanguard, which will not only protect those in the cross hairs, but actively dismantle the operations staged against them.
This new law firm will be managed by former DOJ leader Jeffrey Bossert Clark. The Oversight Project is seeking attorneys motivated by duty to serve their fellow patriots committed to saving their Nation from the ascendant and destructive Anti-American forces.
Lawyers at the Oversight Project will be building what our political movement requires: the ability to defend itself without compromise. This is not a position to manage workflows outsourced to outside counsel. We are engineering from the ground up the institution necessary, entirely in-house.
Key Responsibilities
Attorneys will help execute a multi-faceted strategy encompassing defensive litigation, strategic counter-offensives, and systemic regulatory reform. Core duties include preparing rapid-response filings and ethics defenses for attorneys facing bar complaints, representing clients in constitutional, administrative, and investigative proceedings, and pursuing strategic litigation—including civil suits and possibly counter-complaints—against entities abusing legal and regulatory processes. Additionally, the attorney will contribute to systemic bar association reform by assisting with model legislative and regulatory drafting, advocating for free-speech safe harbors before state and local regulatory boards, and supporting data-tracking initiatives on legal weaponization.
Qualifications
- Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
- Active bar admission in good standing.
- A proven legal background in general litigation, ethics and professional responsibility matters, constitutional law, administrative law, or First Amendment litigation.
- Mission aligned.
- Commitment to work at a mission-focused law firm aimed at building an actual legal movement to service allies.
- The position requires exceptional brief-writing skills, investigative acumen, and the capability to handle rapid-response defensive filings under tight deadlines.
- The ideal applicant is a mission-aligned practitioner willing to step outside traditional firm profit models to build long-term legal resistance, defend client rights, and hold abusive regulatory bodies accountable.
Benefits
The Oversight Project will offer health insurance and retirement contributions. Compensation will not match large commercial firms. The mission asks something different from those who are interested in serving. Compensation, judged against conservative non-profit peers, with a range of $70,000 to $250,000 will depend on qualifications, experience level, track record, and pay history.
Application Process
Please send your resume to Admin@ItsYourGov.Org along with a cover letter.
