Statement from the Oversight Project on the FBI Ending the Relationship with the ADL and SPLC

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 3, 2025

Washington, DC – The Oversight Project applauds Director Patel and Deputy Directors Bongino and Bailey for taking strong actions to end the long-standing relationship between the FBI and the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

For years, the Oversight Project has been litigating on this topic and exposing this corrupt relationship between the FBI and these radical left-wing groups. These groups enabled the FBI to unlawfully target conservatives, Christians, parents at school boards, and even TPUSA and Charlie Kirk.

Furthermore, the FBI allowed the ADL and SPLC to train their Agents and open cases based on referrals from both of these groups promoting their woke ideology. The FBI should have been and must remain an apolitical organization dedicated to fighting terrorism and actual crime instead of woke agendas in violation of American’s First Amendment rights.

Now is the time for accountability, both for the harm these organizations did and for the agents who used this partisan propaganda to abuse their powers. We will continue to call for accountability for those that abused innocent Americans’ rights, and advocate for an FBI that upholds the Constitution and the rule of law in an apolitical manner to protect the American people – an important mission that must never be politicized and weaponized.
