Oversight Project Reacts to President Trump’s Statement on Litigation to Release Hidden Biden Tapes
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 29, 2026
Washington, D.C.– On Wednesday, President Trump weighed in on former President Joe Biden’s last ditch legal efforts to prevent disclosure of the public record that is his recorded interview with the individual he paid to write a book for him, with Biden pretending he wrote the book himself. President Trump referred to Biden as a “crooked politician” when reacting to news on to our lawsuit.
The 2017 recording at issue was obtained by Special Counsel Hur in his investigation that found Biden was an “elderly man with poor memory.” The Oversight Project has been litigating for the release of this tape for over two years. The release would be a key part of our larger investigation into the Biden Administration being run, unconstitutionally, by an autopen device in place of a functioning President who was authorizing key decisions.
The Oversight Project applauds President Trump for his strong reaction and for any potential next steps by his Department of Justice to ensure transparency for Americans. It is critical for the historical record for the public to understand the timeline of Biden’s decline and how it impacted the terrible autopen years of his presidency.
