Oversight Project Opposes Efforts by Congress to Dox ICE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 4, 2026

Washington, D.C.– The Oversight Project will always back law enforcement agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Therefore, we oppose the radical left’s demand that ICE agents unmask while carrying out deportations with the intent of doxing, following, and targeting them. Congress must not pass this bill that will allow the doxing of ICE agents.

As the left becomes more unhinged and agitated, violence has massively increased. We’ve obtained logs of Signal chats where the radical left identifies and doxes ICE agents in Minneapolis which has led to much violence. If Congress forces ICE agents to unmask, they will put them directly in harm’s way.

Oversight Project Visiting Fellow Scott Mechkowski made this statement:

In a climate where death threats against ICE personnel have skyrocketed by 8,000% and assaults by over 1,300%, with mass leaks exposing thousands of agents’ personal information, I will never accept unmasking requirements without aggressive, consistent federal prosecutions that actually punish those who target officers and their loved ones.”
