The Bidens were caught in a CCP influence operation masquerading as the energy company CEFC. CEFC sought to recruit, work with, or meet: A former CIA Director, a former FBI Director, a former NSA Director and Deputy CIA Director, and a Head of Counterintelligence in the FBI NY office.
The former CIA director is Clinton-era director Robert James Woolsey Jr. Based on DOJ’s indictment of CEFC affiliate Gal Luft, Luft, Patrick Ho (Hunter’s “spy chief of China”) and Chairman Ye, the head of CEFC, (now missing) sought “covertly recruit and pay” Woolsey (Individual-1) to “advance the interests of China in the US”.
The former FBI director is Louis Freeh. FBI interview transcript of Hunter’s business partner Rob Walker indicate that Freeh’s group was involved with CEFC “maybe in that specific transaction”. Despite acknowledging that CEFC was in the business of “collecting people” the interviewing agent asked no follow-up questions.
The former NSA director/CIA deputy director is Bobby Ray Inman. Inman stands out for having been one of the few to rebuff and report foreign offers. He claims to have rebuffed approaches from CEFC starting in 2013 and reported the incidents.
The former head of counterintel at the FBI New York Field office is Charles McGonigal. In Jan 2023 McGonigal was charged with holding undisclosed meetings with foreign nationals including a CEFC affiliate (Dorian Ducka) Meetings took place in 2017, while McGonigal would have been overseeing the investigation of Patrick Ho (another CEFC affiliate who Hunter worked with and called the “spy chief of China”).
The threat from the CCP goes far beyond Americans’ conventional understanding of national security. “Elite capture” with bribery, entangled business/investment interests, and blackmail are key tools. Elite capture threatens to separate the interests of citizens from those elites that determine the direction of America’s government and key institutions. This divergence of interests is the root of many problems. CEFC is a case study that the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform must highlight.
