Oversight Project Endorses Senator Schmitt’s Critical Denaturalization Efforts

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 19, 2025

WASHINGTON, D.C.– On January 19th, Sen. Schmitt introduced the Stop Citizenship Abuse and Misrepresentation (SCAM) Act. The Oversight Project is proud to endorse this critical effort.

Oversight Project President Mike Howell released the following statement:

“Senator Schmitt is correct to focus on our broken naturalization system. It is obvious to common sense Americans that the U.S. Government is inadequately screening foreign aliens for whether these would-be citizens are willing to assimilate and bear true allegiance to the United States, attached to the principles of our Constitution, persons of good moral character, and well-disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States. This vulnerability is exacerbated for third-world migrants looking to reap all of the benefits we enjoy as U.S. citizens without ever relinquishing the ethnic, national, or tribal loyalties of their native lands. This is the story of Minneapolis right now, and rings true for countless other communities across our great country who feel the scourge of unvetted, and unvettable, mass immigration. This is a top priority for both Congress and the Administration. Senator Schmitt is the right legislative advocate for the American People, who long for a return to an American immigration system that wholly and exclusively serves American interests. The Oversight Project is proud to endorse his efforts and will continue pushing to raise the bar for what our nation should expect from those who seek to become Americans.”
